I'm crossing more things off my list today, woohoo! I finally decoupaged a box to hold some ribbon, which isn't all that spectacular, and my box to hold candles and the table covers for my altar. It started off as a plain brown papier mâchè wine box, here it is now:
Then in the last 4 days, I was able to make my two sisters their Christmas presents. Here's the apron made with black toile, it's a bit crooked, but oh well, lol, I wasn't using a pattern so that's what I get!
And this is the apron done with red toile, which is my personal favorite! (I LOVE red!)
I can't believe the month is already more than half over!! The next thing on my list is to figure out what I'm going to be doing for Christmas cards this year...I have an idea, but we'll see. Besides that, I still want to get some reading done! I have so many books I want to read...I better get started on that now!

The aprons you made are lovely as is the box. However, why are you a "housewife?" So you have children? Please m=remember that being a Catholic does not mean being a Puritan. the Catholic church does not call women to stay home and simply knit and power up the glue gun. Just wanted to let you know I usually visit your blog after reading through the ex-CoC forum and Preacher's Files. PF always raises my blood pressure so I use your blog to provide a calming effect.....which it does!

Anon, you've made me see the light...I'm wasting my life keeping a clean home and taking care of my family (which, so far, does not include children)! Starting tomorrow, I'm gonna go out and find a stressful job so that on TOP of all my hard work at home, I can work even more, simply to be able to say I'm a "modern woman." Yep...what an idea, why didn't I think of that before?

The aprons are lovely. I love toile. I'm trying to get my mom to make a quite pattern I found that uses blue toile. Alas, I can sew a perfectly straight seam by hand, but put me in front of a sewing machine and my mind goes blank.
Thanks Sara! I love toile too...I'm sure you'd do fine with some practice. Believe me, all my seams are definitely NOT straight on the aprons, lol!
That should have said quilt pattern. I doubt I'll ever get the sewing machine mastered--I had to have my dad do my high school home ec projects for me! I couldn't have mom do them, they would have looked too nice :) It's funny though because I do crewel embroidery, cross stitch and blackwork embroider as a hobby.
Lol, now that's pretty funny!! Well it is a lot easier to get things how you want them when you're going slowly and stitch by stitch...the sewing machine just goes so fast it's easy to lose control!

As for Mother Superior, get the ---- off your high horse. Some people struggle with infertility, you know. Just because they don't have children YET doesn't mean the aren't actively in the process of TRYING for them. Sheesh.
