A Blessed Ash Wednesday to Everyone!

So what are you all doing for Lent?

I'll be giving up sugar (again), that was tough! We'll also be giving up fast food (we've been bad lately!) I'm going to try and pray a rosary each day and start chores, BEFORE checking the boards and blogs.

I hope everyone who is joining the Church at Easter (Aimee and Erik come to mind!) will relish this time of preparation and fasting. I'll be keeping all of you in my prayers, and I can't wait to share your joy with you at Easter!

Let us pray that this Lent will help us reproduce in our lives the self-sacrificing love of Christ. Amen.

I'm giving up sweets, and also just trying to 'take it down a notch' in all areas of my life - y'know, pay attention to whether I *really* need to buy that CD (instead of listening to one of the many I have at home) or go to this restaurant (instead of fixing something simple at home) or see whatever movie 'everyone' is talking about.

Thanks Steph!!! I'm sooo excited and can barely wait for Divine Mercy Sunday when I get to enter the church.

This is an especially meaningful Lent for me...as my son will be baptized on Easter Sunday...which happens to also be his 2 month birthday ;)

As for me, I'm giving up sodas...especially since I'm nursing...

Hi! I stumbled across your blog doing a search for Bruce Sullivan. This is the first year I have ever participated in Lent. I am protestant...got a degree in theology from a pentecostal seminary. Anyway, I gave up meat, which is tougher than I thought. One month and not a bite, but it has been a great experience in focusing on what Christ has done for me. I am on a journey similar to your own. Peace!
