A natural family planning method is as effective as the contraceptive pill, German research suggests.
I want to scream, "DUH!!!!!" but instead I'll just say, "Glad someone finally noticed!"

Ugh, ugh, UGH! Back before I found myself pregnant with #4, one of my doctors chewed me a new one for not agreeing to use artificial contraception. I'm shy and withdrawn, so I tried lamely to explain that I intended to use NFP. She wouldn't even entertain the idea and started in relating to me how it never works, blah blah blah. I wish I'd had this study to hand her!
I'm such a wimp that I've yet to see a doctor since I started using NFP, I've just heard so many horror stories that I'm afraid of having to deal with annoying doctors that think NFP is the rhythm method.
Of course, it's kind of a moot point anyway since we're TTC with no luck at this point :-P
