I can't see pictures of him without tearing up. It's so strange, the connection I feel to John Paul and Pope Benedict. It began almost immediately after I came back to the Church. I knew JP2 was weakening and everytime I say him on EWTN, I would start to weep(even before he died!)
I have cried many more tears of joy being Catholic in 3 years than I did in 30 years of being a charismatic evangelical. God bless Pope JP2 pray for us.
Here's my life in a nutshell - I was raised in the Church of Christ, met a French Catholic guy online in my teens, tried to convert him to the Church of Christ, and-SURPRISE!-ended up converting myself to Catholicism. We ran off to France and got married, came back to the states, I got a degree in English, he got a degree in Computer Science, he got a job, and I am now happily living life as a Catholic housewife.

I feel the same way!
I ask this respectfully.
Why do you feel so sad about someone you do not know or have never met?
Don't get me wrong. I am sorry John Paul is dead, and if I had some sort of medicine to save his life I would have given it to him.

Honestly BH, that is what is so strange to me...I don't really know! All I can say is that it truly feels like a family member died...our papa.
